Be Honest

Honesty means living a truthful life. An honest person never tells a lie or cheats anybody. you should be honest in your words and actions. let’s see by the story.

so , let’s start – Once , a poor woodcutter was cutting a tree near a pond. somehow , his iron axe slipped from his hands and fell into the pond. he started crying bitterly. suddenly , god appeared out of the pond. the following conversation took place between the God and woodcutter.

God – why are you crying my child ?

Woodcutter – God , my axe has fallen into the pond. I am very poor. I cannot buy another one.

God – don’t worry. I will get it for you. (saying this , the God went inside the pond. he came with a golden axe.)

God – see! I have found your axe.

Woodcutter – (after thinking for a while) the woodcutter said No! this is not my axe. my axe was made of iron.

God– then let me try again. (saying this , the God went inside the pond again. he came out with a silver axe.)

God – see! I have found another axe . this must be yours.

Woodcutter – (after thinking for a while) woodcutter said No my lord. it is a silver axe. it is not mine. please give me my axe.

God – Oh! let me try again. (saying this , the God went inside the pond again. he came out with a old iron axe.)

God – Is this your axe ?

Woodcutter – yes my lord. this is my axe. please give it to me.

God – child I am , pleased with your honesty. you are a truthful person. you can keep all the three axes. (saying this , the God gave all three axes to the woodcutter.

Woodcutter – thank you my lord. thanks a lot. you have made my life. (Hearing this , the God smiled and disappeared.)

Moral -you should became honest like the woodcutter. your honesty can sometimes get you good rewards. honesty involves rightful living and truthfulness.
